Project Title: Insect Sculpture Part 2
Medium: Recycled cardboard, masking tape, acrylic paint, embellishments
Grade Theme: Animals

Overview: Students will embellish their caterpillar sculptures that were made in the previous lesson. Embellishments may include: eyes, wings, claws and/or anything the students can think of that is possible with materials handy.
Art Skills: texture creation, design, cutting, gluing
Process: Students will cut, fold and arrange all embellishments on their sculptures.  Teachers will hot glue all heavy parts, like google eyes, and students will glue lightweight embellishments.
Materials: buttons, tissue paper, construction paper, pipe cleaners, mylar, etc.
Tools Provided by Classroom: scissors, white glue

Description Summary: Today students had the second of a two-part special art lesson turning their caterpillar sculptures into different insects.  They cut and folded and glued all the surface details of their animals with colors, shapes and textures.
