Project Title: Ocean Landscape Stamping
Medium: Printmaking
Grade Theme: Oceans and Fish

Overview: Students will create ocean landscapes with seaweed, schools of fish, big sea creatures, and more, using stamps they make themselves, professional printing ink, and watercolor pencils and pastels.

Art Skills: Drawing, stamp making, stamping

Process: Students will draw a kelp forest ocean scene and make a stamp of a sea creature out of Styrofoam. Art teachers will help students ink stamps with professional block printing ink for students to stamp and then draw in more details like schools of fish and other aspects of the kelp forest.

Materials: Construction paper, Styrofoam sheets, block ink, watercolor pencils and pastels

Tools Provided by Classroom: Scissors, pencils

Description Summary: Today students had a special art lesson making ocean landscapes filled with fish and sea creatures.  They made their own stamps and then stamped and drew their ocean landscapes in vivid colors.
