Hungry Caterpillar Drawing

Project Title: Hungry Caterpillar Drawing 

Medium: Watercolor Pastel drawing & Painting 

Narrative Project Grade Theme: Pollinators 

Overview: Students will draw Fruits, flowers and food on outer folds and then a  big caterpillar on the inside, they will practice brush work and add glue google  eyes 

Art Skills: Drawing, brushwork 

Process: Students will draw pictures of food (fruit, flowers, other food) on the outer flaps of folded mixed media paper with watercolor pastels, then draw a BIG caterpillar  on the inside. Students will gently blend the watercolor pastels with brushes and  water, then glue on google eyes 

Materials: folded mixed media paper, watercolor pastels, brushes, water, google eyes Tools Provided by Classroom: pencils, school glue 

Vocabulary: pollinators, pests, metamorphosis 

Multiple Subject Integration: natural science, color theory
