At Creative World, we work to connect people and ideas through art. One powerful way we do this is through our Art Connects Program. Each year, we select one to two local nonprofits to identify a show theme from which we curate and host a series of events that support and amplify our partner nonprofits’ missions. 

Each Art Connects Program includes:

  • A professional gallery show

  • An opening reception

  • A free family art workshop

Backyard Biodiversity celebrates the wildlife that share our homes in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest. Featuring twenty-three artists, the exhibition explores the meeting point of urban and wild, inviting reflection on how we coexist with surrounding habitats and species. Using materials such as paint, fabric, metal, wood, and even wild herbs, the artists reveal the connections between culture and ecology.

Presented in partnership with Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy, a regional land trust dedicated to linking wildlife habitats, the exhibition highlights how recognizing our shared backyards helps us “Connect to Protect” our unique ecosystem.

Food for Thought

“Food for Thought” featured art about our food, its sources, and food waste. FoodEd created an event for all the senses at the opening reception, bringing refreshments made from local plants, honey tastings, native plant giveaways, and more! For the family workshop, FoodEd taught attendees how to pickle vegetables as a way to address food waste while our Creative World artist taught participants how to paint pickles using watercolors and salt!

Climate Conversations

Presented in partnership with Citizens Climate Lobby Pasadena Foothills

“GRASSROOTS: Climate Conversations” featured art with an environmental theme and provided the Pasadena-Foothills chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby a venue to build community and to share their work advocating for climate change legislation.

Community Gallery

Our Community Gallery is dedicated to enriching and inspiring our community through art exposure and appreciation. The Creative World Community Gallery presents four exhibitions every year and is open to the public 11am-4pm Monday-Saturday.
