Project Title: Abstract City Painting 

Medium: Watercolor Pastel with brushwork painting 

Grade Theme: Cities, Technology and Space 

Overview: Students will make abstracted cityscape drawings with watercolor pastels and  then blend with water and brushes 

Art Skills: drawing, painting, composition, color theory 

Process: Students will draw a X from corner to corner and use the top of the X as a  guideline to make a skyline silhouette. They will then deconstruct and separate all the  rest of the paper with shapes and lines. They will color in ALL the shapes with a color  plan and blend with brushwork 

Materials: Mixed media paper, watercolor pastels, water, brushes, pencil
