Students are always encouraged to seek patterns while studying mathematics. But what about making patterns? To understand the visual and cognitive aspects of patterns students should be able to actively play around with the concept. Ms. Shannon's Math & Numbers class got to do just that!

Ms. Shannon went over the idea of grids and patterns and gave students a foundation to work from. In the picture above Edith and Jacob display the different ways one can approach patterns and grids. Edith's is precise and controlled and Jacob's, while initially was controlled, ended up in an explosion of color!

It's great to see how something so seemingly rigid can be interpreted in different ways and manipulated through creativity!
